This museum is dedicated to Vorarlberg’s best-known writer and poet of the 19th century.
Felder originated from a simple farming background. He was able to leave behind a rich portfolio of his work, in spite of the number of unpleasant blows fate saw fit to deal him during the course of his short life.
As a farmer, he worked tirelessly for better conditions for agricultural workers. In order to break the trade monopoly of the infamous cheese lords, he founded a cheese-makers co-operative, as well as establishing a company for insuring livestock.
